Let’s Talk Candy- Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party 2013

I just attended Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party on Friday 9/20. I have been to the party several years in a row now and it is a great treat. One of the topics I often see questions about is trick or treating.  I wanted to answer a few questions about that and share my candy stash pictures.

Q: Can adults Trick or Treat?
A: Yes!  With or without kids, I was solo during this party and hit the trails to fill up my bags. I even dressed up for this party, as Mr Smee one of my favorite pirates of all time.

Q: What kind of bag or bucket do I need?
A: Disney will provide you with a nice sized bag when you enter with your party ticket. You can use this or anything else you bring. Cast Members will put candy in buckets, bags, backpacks, or just into your waiting hands.  If you fill up your assigned bag you can also ask for extras and keep on filling them up.

Q: What type of candy do you get, is it generic stuff?
A: No it’s the good stuff. There is a Worthers stop that gives out the Carmel apple pieces, that is my favorite stop. The other treat trails offer things like Snickers, Skittles, Laffy Taffy, DOTS, M&M’s, Milky Ways and much more.  On the way out you are offered some special treats, Peeps.

Q:  Can I go thru a trail more than once?
A: Yes. Feel free to go thru as many times as you want. Even back. I hit the Worthers stop 6 times in a row.

Q: How much candy do you get?
A: Well it depends on how much time you spend trick or treating. I was alone and didn’t start till after 11pm. I hit the Worthers stop 6 times, then headed to the Tomorrowland speedway stop, hit the trail from Space Mountain to Storybook Circus, stopped at the Circus stop and went thru twice, then back to the Tomorrowland stop (where I picked up a second bag) and then thru the line at Stitch’s Great Escape two times.  I got a handful of Peeps on my way out at midnight. I had waits of less than 3 minutes to get thru each stop. I weighed my candy when I got home and had 3 pounds 6 ounces.

That much candy looks like this:

Candy, Candy Candy!

Candy, Candy Candy!

Ok except for the 3 pieces of Laffy Taffy I ate on the bus on the way back (I am human after all!).

Come back later this week for my full review of the party this year.
