These days Pirates are everywhere; from the movies, to TV shows, to Halloween costumes. There are toddler pirates, friendly pirates, ghost pirates and pirate princesses. Cast out on your adventure by waking up in your pirate-themed room at Disney’s Caribbean Beach resort. These rooms offer a décor that would please any pirate. With nautical themed touches and beds inside ships, this room will have ye ole family ready to plunder the parks.
Start out by sending your kids on a pirate cruise! The Pirate Adventure will give your kids a chance to look for hidden treasures around Seven Seas Lagoon. They will have the opportunity to don their own pirate gear and search for treasures under the guidance of Cast Members. Your children will leave with a great tale of adventure and some booty of their own to keep. Pirate ships set sail from the marina at the Grand Floridian resort Monday thru Saturday at 9:30am for a 2 hour cruise. The Pirate Adventure is for children ages 4-12. Prices starting at $31.95 per child.
Head over to the Magic Kingdom and be transformed into your favorite pirate at Pirate’s League. This makeover shop located near Pirates of the Caribbean in Adventureland can transform the most upstanding citizen into a scallywag in no time. With options from Blackbeard to Jake of Neverland Pirate fame, you’ll have no trouble finding a look that fits you. You will officially become a pirate when you take the oath and receive a special treasure. This experience is for all ages with packages starting at $29.95.
While in Magic Kingdom, take a spin on the ride that started it all. Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean attraction opened in 1973 and has been entertaining guests ever since. With rich details such as a stalemate chess match in the queue and hair on a pirates legs dangling over your boat, this attraction is one of the Imaginers’ best. With inspiration from Walt himself, the simple storyline showcasing a band of pirates and their exploits has spawned movies, merchandise, and other attractions in the Theme Parks.
After your trip on the original attraction, check your Times Guide for show times for Captain Jack’s Pirate Tutorial. Everyone’s favorite pirate, Captain Jack Sparrow, enlists new recruits several times a day for pirate training and to take the pirate oath. Children are randomly selected from the audience to participate in the show making every show unique and fun for all ages.
Head over to Hollywood Studios to continue your pirate adventure. You can see your favorite pirate detective Jake, from Jake and the Neverland Pirates, at Disney Junior Live on Stage. Then stop by to meet Jake in person after the show just outside the theater. Be sure to let Jake pass along your greetings to Izzy, Sharkey and the rest of the gang.
If you have some extra time stop by the newly added attraction The Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow on soundstage 4 and see if you have what it takes to join Jack’s crew. This new walk thru attraction will put you to the test as you experience your favorite moments from the Pirates of the Caribbean films come to life before your eyes. It is different. We will leave it at that. Do not get in line for this if there is a more than 10 minute wait, there is better use of your time elsewhere in the park.
For a pirate-worthy finale, book the Pirate and Pal’s fireworks cruise. This cruise for the whole family departs from the Contemporary Marina on select nights. Enjoy some snacks and treats before your voyage to the best spot to watch Magic Kingdom’s Wishes fireworks show. Some of Disney’s most famous pirates, like the villainous Captain Hook and the lovable Mr. Smee, are sure to crash to party. Cruise pricing starts at $33.01 for children and $57.50 for adults.
